Running a campaign, even a small one like this, can be expensive. I'm not a business owner or property-developer looking to get into politics to further enrich myself. I'm a working-class homeowner and public employee. My future is inherently entwined with that of Cedar City and the people who live here.

In our last election, only 31% of eligible voters in Iron County cast a ballot. That means one voter is essentially speaking for two of their neighbors. This is not how democracy should work. As a lifelong progressive living and working in a deep red district, I get it. What's the point of getting involved when winning feels so impossible? But real change always starts when ordinary people decide to show up. The fight now is more important than ever. This campaign is about proving that working Utahns like us, can run, win, and make our voices heard. The future we all deserve isn't one that'll happen on it's own.
